I had the pleasure of photographing Agathe and Guillaume's wedding at Château de Rots, near Caen in Normandy, in the soft light of early autumn.
The day began with the couple getting ready at the family home in Caen. It was an intimate, warm atmosphere filled with laughter, emotion and the excitement of preparations. These moments, often quiet but essential, form the foundations of an honest, natural wedding story.
My approach first focused on the essence of documentary wedding photography: the setting, the people present, and the couple's outfits and accessories. These details give meaning to the photographs and ground the story in real life.
Then I let the magic unfold. Bursts of laughter, tender gestures, exchanged glances and the particular emotion that comes before the big moments. These sometimes imperceptible details give the wedding story its depth.
The religious ceremony took place at the Catholic church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption in Bretteville-sur-Odon, bathed in delicate light. It was a thoughtful, emotional moment, where every glance and gesture reflected the depth of their commitment.
With its green parkland and elegant architecture, Château de Rots provided the ideal setting for a romantic wedding near Caen in Normandy. The chosen palette of sage green, eucalyptus and blush pink brought a timeless softness, enhanced by September's natural light.

THE EVENING AT CHÂTEAU DE ROTS
Dinner took place in the yellow room, which accommodates 85 seated guests.
The beautiful rotunda room was used for serving the cake and dancing.
